PAX Flow Vaporizer Full Review: Everything You Need to Know

The PAX Flow — PAX's Latest Dry Herb Vaporizer

PAX has been making premium dry herb vaporizers for over a decade, and the PAX Flow is their newest addition to the lineup. It's positioned between the PAX Plus and PAX 3 in terms of price and features, with a hybrid heating system that's genuinely different from older PAX models. Here's everything you need to know before buying.

PAX Flow Specs & Features

  • Heating type: Hybrid (conduction + convection) — faster heat-up, more even extraction
  • Heat-up time: ~30 seconds
  • Temperature range: 4 heat settings (or precise control via PAX app)
  • Battery life: Up to ~8 sessions per charge
  • Charge method: USB-C
  • App connectivity: Yes — Bluetooth, PAX app on iOS/Android
  • Oven size: 0.3g capacity (standard PAX oven)
  • Form factor: Slim, pocket-friendly

How It Performs

The hybrid heating is the Flow's biggest upgrade over older PAX models. Pure conduction vapes (like the original PAX 3 in standard mode) heat your herb by contact with the oven walls, which can lead to uneven extraction and a slightly harsher draw. The Flow adds convection airflow that passes hot air through the herb, resulting in smoother hits and better extraction efficiency — especially noticeable in the first 2–3 draws of a session.

Flavor is clean and true-to-strain in the lower temperature settings. At higher temps you get denser vapor but the flavor profile starts to mute. For flavor chasers, keeping the Flow at its lower or medium heat settings is the move.

Who Is the PAX Flow For?

The PAX Flow is the right choice if:

  • You want PAX's best heating technology in a slim form factor
  • You're a dry herb-only user (no concentrates)
  • You value smooth vapor over maximum vapor production
  • You want app control and custom temperature settings

If you also vaporize concentrates, the PAX 3 is the better pick thanks to its included concentrate insert. If you want the absolute simplest PAX experience without an app, the PAX Plus works fine.

Our Verdict

The PAX Flow is a genuine upgrade for dry herb users who want PAX's polish with better extraction technology. The hybrid heating makes a noticeable difference, and the USB-C charging and app support keep it current. It's the PAX we'd recommend to most dry herb buyers in 2026.
